Once the earth was famished
Thirst of what I missing, the echoes of a passing bulldozer.
Rainfall could not have sounded harder than rocks
Eager to touch, the soil laid bare to sun
New but no longer fresh, the debt of losing dust to air,
Innocence gone, nature quakes.
The fate of wanting more in the shades of needing less.
Life on earth, changing in texture and yet tasting the same.
When her mind was pounding,
Lost in the words she could not refuse, the woo of flowing affairs as the others.
Friendship alone would not sustain her flare
Listening to the song that nods her fear to rest
Special but no longer sane, the pain of losing face to crowd
Eager to feel, her heart exposed to cuts
Innocence gone, emotion bleeds
The fate of giving more in the shades of getting less.
Life as a girl, changing in forms and yet scenting the same.
Now his thought is running
Pursued by the future he could not do without, the ambush
Of a better life is a nearby world. Dreams could not have exceeded sheer reality
Seeing the hope that puffs his ego to a rise
Different but no longer fun, the ache of losing pride to ride
Eager to have his eyes drawn to tears
Innocence gone, feelings rage
The fate demanding more in the shades of deserving less
Life as a boy, changing in style and yet looking far the same.
